Tech Trends

Thinking a lot about tech trends recently after reading the report below. As always it seems like we're on the cusp of some big things, machine learning and Automation, IoT, etc.

What are some interesting trends that you guys have been following? From things that you just find interesting to companies that you think are going to be killing it.

Interesting document, I plan to check it out further on my break. As for the interesting trends, I've been hearing more about blockchain and how it could potentially help the supply side of businesses. I'm not too familiar with it, but I'm looking into it. Another thing I've noticed is due to the rise in electric cars many are looking for the next big metal to explode in demand.

Taking a bird's eye view perspective, technology (in aggregate) is simply reducing human interaction. I believe in the long term (after you and I are long dead), even reproduction will be digitized. Think dating, but since all of our sperm/eggs are stored in an offsite location, a positive match and subsequent approval from both parties would automatically spawn babies in a "factory" of sorts. You would have the option to pick up the baby, or have it delivered to your home.
This would be the final straw in humanity's (often mindless) pursuit of technology.
