Technicals for Group Placement?

Hi guys,

Interning at RBC this upcoming summer, and it appears group placement is just around the corner. For any of you who have participated in a group placement process outside of the early recruiting process, can you share some insight on what to expect?

Should I be preparing again for technicals as if it was a superday? Or is it really just fit-based phone calls during the process?

If I do not have a preference towards any group, is it acceptable to say that if they ask going into it? Or should I specifically choose a group with some arbitrary justification for reasoning as a frontrunner going in?

Is this a one-day thing or does it span over a week or something just getting in phone calls while you can?

Would really appreciate any insight you guys may have. Thanks.

They’re not gonna ask u technicals lmao. Interned at a similar bank and pretty much every bank with a placement process does it the same way. Either you’ll be given a list of contacts and maybe have to sit for a presentation and network with the groups you want over zoom or they’ll fly you out for a weekend to chat with people in the office. Entirely fit based. If you’re dead set on a more popular group I’d be proactive about networking prior to the start of the process but otherwise ur chillin
