The Analyst 15
Have you guys gained any weight working as an analyst? I don't start till the summer but I'm worried that I'll lose my physique I've worked for in college. Is it possible to maintain a decent physique while still being an An1?

I feel like I've lost weight. Less time to lift in the gym, less time to eat three good meals a day. Just lots of sitting around feeling tired and hungry and full of coffee
Yeah I am withering away
Have no clue where this idea came from. Literally lost a shit ton of weight/muscle....
The idea came from the fat analyst I interned for. Probably just his excuse to be fat
Yeah I gained 15 already since starting in January this year. 15 kgs, that is. Thanks, meal stipend!
My firm pays for lunch and dinner so I’ve been eating way too much
Up 35 lbs since July 😅
Major gains. respect brah
no one cares prospect
Analyst -15 crowd undeniably genetically superior and also more likely to be top bucket (from working instead of eating) than Analyst +15 crowd (subhuman corpulent oafs)
And way more likely than us +-0 analysts who keep working out and counting our macros
I lost weight as an intern but gained a decent amount during FT due to the meal stipend. During slow periods (80ish hours of work a week) I'm able to work out regularly so I usually lose most of the weight I gain then. But when work gets rough and I'm pulling 95-100+ hour weeks I gain weight and just kind of wait for the next lull to lose it all. Can't wait to quit so I can be healthy consistently.
Where do you work that 80 hours a week is slow, so I can avoid it?
It's BofA... a lot of the groups here have been crushed since covid started. It got worse when a lot of people quit and then got even worse when the new analyst class came in without having done an actual internship
Your shop sounds awful how do these places still exist outside of the very top EBs that can warrant it lmfao
If you naturally require a ton of upkeep to stay slim then you're fucked. Personally, I lost a ton of weight due to not having time for breakfast and copious amounts of caffeine/amphetamines
I remember when I started in IB, a VP joked about the Analyst 15 and I told him I should be good.
Flash forward a few months in and he was more than right (well over 15 pounds). To be fair, I did not take exercise seriously until after the beginning of the second year and I have been off and on with it over the years (better these days schedule permitting)
As a note, there was an analyst who I worked with who was extremely dedicated to working out and would do so even 16 plus hour days. He was a former athele to be fair but I wish I had that level of dedication back then.
