The most stupid/ridiculous question

What was the most stupid/ridiculous question you’ve been asked in an IB Interview?

They asked me how to get EBITDA if you have all three statements but only partly filled. After I had explained how you could get it, they said: you cannot get EBITDA. It’s not an accounting measurement.

I was asked how the Black-Scholes model for valuing options works.

For an internship. In business development. In real estate.

There's no nobility in poverty.

Interviewer under their breath, sweating, nervously flipping through materials: "fuck, this guy is good"

If you had an unlimited supply of water and a 5 gallon bucket and 3 gallon bucket, how can you get 4 gallons in one bucket. (Exactly 4 gallons).

Stonks.

BB SA interview:

Q: "what's your favorite bloomberg function?"

A: "uhhhh isn't there a march madness one? or the hurricane one? POSH is pretty good too" (in my head: wow this guy is bored)

later, same interview - guy was an associate in natres coverage, i'm a business major applying as a generalist:

Q: "do you know what the different components of oil are?"

A: "um i haven't really taken chemistry since 10th grade"

Q: "jesus what do they teach kids in school these days?!"

got the superday..
