I would be genuinely scared for my life. That dude sounds like the type to go on a rampage at some point.

Even if he was joking, the fact that someone at that firm thinks that it is acceptable to say something like that tells you everything you need to know.

If you worked for a BB he might actually be fired for this comment, point blank. Since it's a boutique it may be harder. You might actually consider asking a lawyer about your options.

Of course no matter what happens you should lateral as soon as possible. I wouldn't quit your job beforehand, though.
