I'm in my pre-mba summer internship. My m&a boutique gave me the title "Deal Origination Associate". I'm trying to land BB IBD next summer, should I keep this title or tweak it on my resume?

im honestly not really sure which category i would fit into. It's a very small group, and it's only my second week. My position is going to involve a lot of random work, so far i've edited COMs (confidential offering memorandums ) and sought out buyer sources for our sell-side advisory clients.
That sounds transaction oriented so I would just go with IB Associate. If your primary role was soliciting new clients/deals for the firm (creating marketing materials, attending industry conferences, working on pitches, etc.) then I would keep the original title, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Investment Banking Summer Associate sounds better
I agree that Investment Banking Summer Associate sounds better, but can I get in trouble if my next employer does a resume/background check and finds out that wasnt my official title?
