Tidal Partners Recruiting

Tidal Partners coming to my school (target) for OCR. I understand it was founded quite recently -- curious what consensus looks like on the firm as it's been a few months now. Seems kind of like a diamond-in-the-rough from what I've heard: tech boutique, with the Centerview team plus a more flexible mandate given the 2-yr analyst program and buy-side partnerships w/ Apollo, etc. Anyone have additional info/insight into performance on the tech side?

Too early to speak on firm performance but can attest that the team there is excellent. Have interacted with many of the folks that joined from cvp & they are very intelligent, personable, genuinely passionate about tech, and arguably most important of all - were the heart and soul of the tech practice at cvp. For these reasons I would argue that Tidal is a risk worth taking for someone who’s worried about how new they are, what little reputation they have, etc.

Of course if you have other offers from excellent firms/groups, that warrants a different discussion

How feasible is it to recruit for the firm if not from a college with OCR? Quite interested in joining them for a FT position but haven't seen anything regarding recruitment.

Solid shop-- heard that basically all their deal flow from CVP followed the partners over. Model seems like CVP's strat advisory/M&A with large-cap retainers, with some early-stage venture work as well. Top of street comp -- interesting to see how the old CVP office will be doing now.

Mostly from what I've heard. They recruit OCR from Dartmouth, Stern, Wharton, Stanford, and Columbia it seems like. Maybe a few more? But top programs nonetheless. Most of the older guys are ex-CVP (obviously) and new analysts are from Stern Dartmouth and Wharton.
