Tier 3 IB (HSBC, BNP, etc.) to Corp Strat / Dev Exits?

As per the question, was wondering about the options for analysts/associates at banks like HSBC and BNP into corporate side roles? Would yall recommend say lateralling to a better BB and then considering such exits?

I have seen exits from Tier 3 banks into MM PE, HFS, Corp Dev, and more. In general, I think recruiting is more about what you make of it and significantly less dependent on bank brand name as this site tends makes it out to be. You might not get opportunities in your inbox from KKR, but that’s not to say you won’t get any opportunities. There’s a guy at KKR from Oppenheimer for gods sake! Work hard, learn a lot, be proactive with headhunters and prepare for interviews well and you’ll be satisfied with the outcome.
