Tips for selling macro research to IBs

I recently started working for a Macro research house in sales. Never worked in finance before, but had a long career in SaaS sales.

I'm meant to be targeting banks & investment banks too, which is only further complicated by the larger issues in the industry, but I've found it incredibly difficult to get any response rate through emails / phone calls with strategies that have worked in my previous positions.

Typically the firm just tries to email sample reports and then go from there to grow the account. Their work is very good too from what I hear from people, and they have a high client retention rate, so the quality of the research isn't the issue.

Curious if anyone can provide insight on how I can get higher response rates, or better position this in front of people. I have sold many different things in my life, but really at a loss as to how to sell this product, and the firm tends to target mostly asset managers / hedge funds / pensions rather than banks/IBs, but they do have many banking clients.

Any help is much appreciated.
