Was wondering if anyone knows how IB compensation is in japan relative to other major hubs ? im a dual citizen (uk/japan) so was considering maybe trying to work in japan later down the line (not quite business proficient in japanese yet- attending uni at a uk target rn )

1) you don’t want to ib in Japan. Especially if you’re not 100% Japanese. Hard upwards mobility and low comp. Pros - prices have not changed since 1990s so lower CoL

2) Japan is one of the few countries that doesn’t allow dual citizenship

yea currently im a dual citizen- you can sort of circumvent the rule as long as they dont figure out haha. but yeah i heard japan isnt very foreigner friendly which i understand why - bit of a shame but is what it is. its a ridiculously homogeneous society. would still want to keep that avenue though. definitely not as an analyst
