Career Resources
@pubfinanalyst" might have some good insight, but it is my impression that Citi has the top practice, followed by JPM and MS. Also, Barclays' Higher Ed group is dominant.
Depends what you're looking for. Deal flow would be Citi jp baml ms maybe wells who go for top of league table but offer low takedowns for that but revenue per head would be certain groups for Goldman and Barclays who do only a few deals but tend to be more complex
thanks for the insight. Regarding baml, goldman and Barclays, what would you say are the top groups in each firm? @pubfinanalyst"
Baml is strong in the general regional issues if you are in a regional group instead of sector based and utility credits and to be honest are generally strong all around , Goldman has transportation and public power Barclays has higher Ed and transportation
But some of the more private type comes transactions like power transportation higher Ed and healthcare aren't bamls strengths
Can you look into Raymond James' Public Finance group?
Having worked in BAML's public finance healthcare group, I would consider them very strong in that space. Consistent top 3 in league tables by total par issuance, many years #1. Relationships with most of the top NFP healthcare systems in the country and a desk that underwrites aggressively. Citi, JP, GS are also very competitive PFHC groups.
What about Raymond James? They are a solid mid tier bank I don't know much about their sector groups but it seems like they are more generalists than sector specific but i could be wrong

Interested in top public finance groups (i.e. healthcare, transportation, higher edu, public power) at various banks. Thanks
Citi has the strongest muni platform on the street.
Citi seems to have the best CIB and a decent PF platform. I have heard that JPM does a decent amount of work along w/ U.S. bancorp. Please let me know what your interviews were like --- thanks,
