Trying to get a consensus on the best tmt ib groups to join as an analyst in 2019 for exit opps.
Heard MS and GS SF were good for tech but wondering if exit opps arent better coming from NY.
Looking to exit in Tech PE.
I did use the search, trying to get relevant material for 2018

West coast is dominated by MS, GS, Qatalyst
West Coast will generally have the strongest groups for tech IB with most top groups being in SF and Silicon Valley.
Top groups would be Qatalyst Partners, Morgan Stanley (Menlo Park), Goldman, and maybe several other BB groups (JPM/CS). Some other solid boutiques to look at would be Union Square Advisors, Code Advisors, Allen & Co, GCA Savvian, and Centerview.
All groups tend to place well among VC, PE, and growth equity firms with Q, MS, and GS usually placing at larger groups (Vista Equity, KKR, TPG, Silver Lake).
Would be interested to see what others have to add to this in terms of killer tech groups in SF/SV.
