Trading after IB SA position
I asked my firm if I could trade stocks after my summer internship, and they said "technically yes" but also warned that it could derail my career. I obviously would not trade equity for any companies that were direct clients, but I was wondering what the general consensus on this is? Can/should you trade stocks for companies that aren't affiliated with the firm you worked with? I would plan to liquidate all holdings before returning full-time, but I have a year in between.
