Transaction Opinion Question
I understand that there is a growing demand for transaction opinion services (fairness opinion/solvency opinion). How are they viewed in comparision to M&A or Restructuring, for example, within IB? Also, how are the compensations? What are some notable transaction opinion firms?
Also, are you required to take Series 7 and Series 63? If hired, will they give you sufficient time to take those exams if you haven't taken them upon hire?
You have to work for a firm registered with FINRA to be able to sit for the exams, so getting licensed before your hire date is out of the option. In my experience, most firms will give you between 1-3 months to study and sit for the exams if the licenses are even required.
