Transfer Strugs

So, without giving away too much details, I attended an ivy target my freshman year of college and ended up transferring away to a semi-target(ish) school. The reason for the transfer are unimportant, but basically I wasn't loving my time at X school and I had no idea what I wanted to do anyway.

Since leaving, I've realized that I want to do finance, specifically investment banking, so I'm debating going back to previous Ivy target in the fall. Now, the problem here is that I would end up having to be a 5th year senior. Would this negatively affect my chances/be looked at negatively? Also, how would this double transfer make me come across? Any ideas welcome. I'm just trying to get a general idea about this scenario.

Before anyone asks: Yes, I can get readmitted to my previous school.

Idk how the double transfer thing would come across, but I think there could be ways to make it less obvious on your resume. Like if you were to transfer back, put your current school on your resume the same way someone would put the name of the European university they studied abroad at or something.

I'm just a college student so like I can't speak with any authority but, I feel like, similar to most other out-of-the ordinary situations, as long as you frame it in a way that makes sense you should be ok. The only way I think it could be bad is if an interviewer interprets it as your inability to commit/ you are indecisive; however if you frame it well and demonstrate how committed you now are to this career path I think you should be fine.

Just a question, would the Ivy take you back? I transferred from a non-target to an Ivy last year, and in order to transfer I had to formally withdraw from the other school, so did you reapply there? Just curious.

If you think the recruiting is worlds apart at the two schools, may as well transfer back, even if you have to do 5th year senior - is there any way to get a second major or something and make it seem like that's why? Otherwise, you could just speak about why you'll be a 5th year senior in interviews

honestly, just leave your transfer off the resume. it's omitting, not lying. take the 5th semester senior year. a semester isn't much in the real world/long-term.
