transferable ER skills for IB
Will be doing an ER summer internship at a respected buy-side shop and hoping to recruit for IB SA next summer. Just wanted to know what I should focus on to better prepare for IB summer recruitment. Was also wondering what are the transferable skills from ER to IB. I was told that I would be put in touch with SS ER and other brokers and was wondering if it was OKay to try and network with them and hopefully get connected to bankers.

Pretty similar skills. Should be highly transferable. Particularly modeling and financial statements
Do ER people exit to PEs?
Not directly. IB first. Reason is that IB teaches a deal management skill set not learned in ER.
Isn’t ER at a buy-side the exit opp? I’d assume a lot of IB would want to go to buyside ER not the otherway around
