Transitioning from IBD to ER

Burned out 3rd year investment banking associate here (ignore the title), I was considering sellside equity research as a potential next step in my career, ideally in the same coverage universe which I currently am in.

Has anyone on here considered or taken a similar step in their career? Understand that ER in general is in structural decline and a future move to corp dev / FP&A etc might be tough down the line. Any other thoughts would be much appreciated as well!
