Truist Coverage Groups

I understand that Truist has industry groups, and a lot of people have said that the lev fin team is the best group (not including industry). How do the industry groups stack up against lev fin? Do they have a dedicated M&A team?

Lev Fin is the best group. They used to have an M&A group at STRH pre-merger which was the top group, but during the merger they moved all the junior bankers into the coverage groups. So they technically have a standalone M&A still but it’s only Directors and MDs.

Best coverage groups there are HC & Industrials. TMT group is decent. Would stay away from Consumer, FIG and P&U.

It's Truist so lots of pitching and definitely weaker than any BB and leading MM (not good on league tables), but I think the MDs are solid and it has potential to grow into a solid MM. HC definitely has longer hours than other groups, so not as lifestyle-oriented as some may expect.

Note that HC is split into two, HC Services (ATL) and Life Sciences (NYC), which makes it important to think carefully about your preferences for locations and types of companies.
