Does anybody know whether Lev Fin/Sponsors is a combined group at both of these firms meaning would analyst/associate be a generalist in the 1st 2 or 3 years?
I know that UBS SF has 15-20 bankers doing lev fin. Is this purely for the tech group or is it for other groups as well?
Lev fin and sponsors are almost always separate, but they work closely with each other. Almost certain JP is separate, havn't looked at a UBS deal in awhile.
they have a FSLF group that covers sponsors, LevFin and restructuring. The group in SF does mostly restructuring work.
Overall I'd say that UBS FSLF is better htan JPM.
Done some big deals, Travelport, Univision to name a few.
So I'm assuming most of the FSLF group is based out in NYC then. How big is the group?
JPM seperates SLF and FIG. I don't have an opinion on JPM's FIG, but I know that SLF is the best on the street by far-check any league table.
yeah they are both based in NY. I know that FIG is pretty small and SLF is the biggest group in the i-bank. Sorry I can't give you an exact number.
For all investment banks are their LevFin groups based in NYC and West Coast, or are there other locations?
