UBS freshman frenzy 2009?

On March 25 I got the following email:

"Thank you for your interest in the UBS Freshman Frenzy. Your application is currently being reviewed.

We will notify you of next steps shortly.

Regards,

Diversity Recruiting UBS Investment Bank"

The program is in May, it's been almost a month since they sent the first follow up email...they have to send something out soon I think. Anyone else?

sounds like they dinged you OR they just have no idea what's going on, which is highly likely right now

They sent out the letters today, did not get in. i think this was targeted towards URMs, I could be wrong though. 3.9 GPA at a target apparently was not good enough...

I think you're right that this very insignificant program was oriented towards helping minorities get exposure and build their networks. But honestly, one semester in college and a 3.9 doesn't mean too much. If you maintain that GPA for 3 years I'll congratulate you.

I was told by a UBS recruiter that I have the best resume that she has seen from a freshman interested in S&T and I did not get in.

That tells me it's geared highly towards minority students as it should be. It doesn't make much sense spending recruiting dollars on already interested freshmen.

but yeah, reject with a 3.93 at target.

It's a tough program, I had a 3.9 at the application point last year and applied, I'm at a target and a URM and still didn't get in. It's just a tough program, but its also not the end of the world. Life goes on, so you pick up yourself finish finals and find something fun and productive for the summer

When did you guys get your letters? I still haven't gotten anything since the March 25 email...
