UBS junior banker wellness bonus??

Did an juniors see the email on wellness UBS sent out?

To recap, instead of giving us a bonus, extra day off, salary bump or ANYTHING like that, we now get:

- a stub bonus in July 2021 (instead of a full year bonus in Jan 2022)

- wait until August 2022 to get a FULL YEAR bonus

This is ridiculous... as so many of my co analysts have pointed out, this is a worse compensation package (two stub vs one whole year bonus) and also no extra bonus or days off. For UBS’a best year in a WHILE, this is ridiculous. What the fuck?

I have no incentive to stay anymore. They need to pay us more or actually create an incentive to stay....

For anyone who might not understand why they did this, they want to provide a stub in July so they can keep as many people as they can until the end of the summer so the new full-time hires can join in August and the remaining team won't get crushed over the summer. Also, I think the August 2022 bonus is to incentivize those who are planning on staying past the summer stub to work longer before they inevitably also bounce. That's my reasoning of why they did this but yeah, it's not a meaningful improvement or even in the favor of the current teams at the firm.
