UBS Power, Utilities & Infrastructure (London)

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone had applied to the Analyst / Associate role at UBS within the PUI team? If so, have you guys heard back?

How long is the recruitment process for lateral in UBS?

Thanks so much!

I just got the e-mail that they forwarded my application to the hiring manager today, and I applied sometime around 12-14th of Dec. However, I am a target MSc student with just over 1yr of exp. at a regional no-name boutique, so I think I have shitty odds either way. Best of luck!

Hi guys,

Just checking on the above, how was the interview process?

I also got the same message that cv has been sent to hiring manager.

I am coming from a Big 4 with 6 YOE of Audit+Plus Valuations and Corporate finance.

I have worked with pricing PPAs a bit.

Thank you.

Thank you for your insights, I really appreciate it.

To provide some context about myself, I’m in my 30s and have a background in Quantitative Finance, having previously worked as a lecturer in the field before transitioning into a Big 4 firm. Over the past month, I’ve been dedicating a lot of time to sharpening my technical skills – particularly around concepts like LBOs – to better position myself for a move into finance.

I’m currently waiting to hear back from Augusta & Co. regarding their internship positions posted about two weeks ago, though I’m not too optimistic. In addition, there’s also a Corporate Finance VP role with Alix Partners that I’m pursuing.

Given my background and the time I’ve spent getting up to speed with technicals, I’m still keen to break into the industry, and I’d be open to even an internship if it’s the right fit. If you have any specific recommendations on areas I should focus on or any advice on how best to stand out, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks again for your time and support!

I’m not too sure about UBS specifically but at my previous firm, there was an Analyst who previously had 7 years worth of experience at Big 4 so I think you’re on the right track (ie applying for Analyst roles to pivot).

When I was struggling and confused, I had many helping me out and I’m always happy to help where I can - it’s an extremely tough and competitive industry, a little help / insight / advice goes a long way.

Good luck to you :)
