UK Dissertation - How long does it take to finish?

The diss is 12,000 words.

Got a FT role lined up so really have 0 motivation to do this and would prefer to travel over the summer.

How long does it realistically take to do? Can I do it in 2/3 weeks if I concentrate on nothing but writing it?

I will have no part time job, won’t be recruiting, no other uni modules… so can’t see why I can’t wash my hands of this in 2/3 weeks.

Bear in mind I’m happy with a merit (2:1), not going for a Distinction (1st Class) as already have FT offer signed.

If we are being honest here, there is basically no way you could write a proper (if aiming for at least 2:1) dissertation in 2/3 weeks unless you have already done the literature review and have all the relevant data collected but even then you would have to grind hard. Bear in mind that doing literature review is probably the hardest part and in your case, it will take probably something like 4k words. From my own personal experience, the literature review took like 5 weeks (even though the literature surrounding my topic is very limited), although I had other modules and etc. Methodology section takes like 2 days. Data collection (determining sample size, parameters of sample, collection of the data and etc.) took a few days. Currently doing discussion of empirical findings but no idea how long this is going to take (estimating at least another couple of weeks) but at the same time Im preparing for exams, so basically I have to write it whenever I have the time. Therefore, at least from my own experience, its just impossible if aiming for 2:1 at least. If you try it, let me know how its gonna go

Furthermore, wanted to note that literature review will basically lay the foundation for your own work, hence this is why it is the hardest part.
