UK Summer Recruiting How to Approach

Currently a student at a semi-target in the UK and am looking to break into banking. I interned in asset management last year and always thought that was what I was going to do out of college but really want to challenge myself with banking and think I could learn a ton here. How should I be approaching summer recruiting and what resources are best to just get better as quickly as possible? Thanks everyone!

Interned in a boutique overseas and am in a similar spot where would appreciate any advice in terms of navigating recruiting in London

Exact same as it’s always been - apply everywhere and pray you get something.

Once you get an interview it’s down to you entirely.

For technicals, 400 Questions should be enough.

Thanks, this is the BIWS 400 right? Got told that I should also do the entire guide as the 400 gets you into memorization rather than learning

yup recommend reading through the entire BIWS books rather than solely doing 400

As others have mentioned UK breaks down into 3 pieces 1) have a good resume and crush the hirevue (much less networking like you've mentioned compared to the US and much more of HR screening resumes 2) Nailing your story of why banking and some generic behaviourals 3) Making sure you've got the basic technicals down such as the ones that others have mentioned. I'd first prioritize that your resume is up to par as applications have been out most recently and once that is done pivot to the behaviourals and technicals while waiting for hirevues. Good luck!
