Umich ross vs USC marshall vs washu
Hi,
I was wondering if I could get some advice on college decisions. While I have a clear interest in business, I don't have a specific path set - maybe consulting / finance / IB.
While I am aware of the environment and the level of education I'll receive, I'm not really sure about the reputation/prestige/job outcome for these schools. I'm aiming for MBA after undergrad so maintaining a high GPA is also a big factor.
In general I'd prefer a smaller private school but I've heard that ross and Marshall are a small community by themselves so I guess it shouldn't matter as much.
Any thoughts or advice?
When considering UMich Ross, USC Marshall, and WashU for a career in consulting, finance, or investment banking (IB), it's essential to weigh several factors, including reputation, network, and the potential for maintaining a high GPA for MBA aspirations. Here's a breakdown based on the most helpful WSO content:

Job Outcomes and MBA Preparation:
Community and Environment:
GPA Considerations:
In conclusion, while Ross might offer a slight edge in terms of overall reputation and job outcomes in high finance and consulting, your preference for a smaller school and the importance of maintaining a high GPA for MBA aspirations could make WashU an attractive option. USC Marshall should not be discounted either, especially if you have an interest in working on the West Coast. Ultimately, consider where you feel you would thrive both academically and socially, as this will significantly impact your undergraduate experience and future career opportunities.

UMich Ross. Lights out placement, especially compared to all the other schools here.
ross
First off, congrats. These are all amazing schools. But to answer your question:
Cross out marshall if youre targeting NYC. Between ross and washu, if youre optimizing placement, then Ross for sure. Pretty sure college life in Michigan is better too but not sure how you would define that so that part is up to you.
But coming from a similarly well known bschool that is mostly comprised of hardos, the experience can be a bit off putting. Unless you find a group of chillers, you will end up talking about recruiting 24/7. If you do end up going to Ross, make sure to make friends outside of ross / ib recruiting as well to keep you sane.
Hey same set of schools for me ironically. Just want to make sure I get "hardos" defined right. I like this. So in effect intensity and focus on placement and competitiveness is at another level for Ross? Vs. all other schools or just this peer set.
