Undergraduate Orientation Questions

Good morning, good evening everybody.

I'm an undergraduate student in a top French business school in Paris and currently looking for an internship in Investment Banking for the first part of my gap year (starting in June 2017).

I already had an interview in a top french M&A boutique and kind of confident in my chances to have this internship. But today my questioning is about accepting this offer or not (if I get it obviously).

Indeed I really consider a career in corporate finance and in Financement on the long term. This boutique is clearly a top boutique on the French market but I fear it is not so well-known abroad and particularly outside of Europe. As a matter of fact, if I want to do a second 6-months internship during my gap year, my school obliges me to go abroad. I fear I will not be able to get an internship far abroad (I mean, outside of London, as I'm particularly interested in going in the US or in Asia).

On the other hand, some friends of mine told me that for Summer Internships (I will apply for 2018), an international experience is "mandatory". To what extent is this true ?

Summarized my questions are the following ones : - Should I accept the offer of the top french M&A boutique or should I reject it and concentrate on finding an internship in a more widely known bank ? - Is an international experience really mandatory for a summer internship ?

Thanks a lot for reading !
