Unemployed

Currently finishing up my last year of undergrad

I’m honestly not sure how to keep it together anymore. I did a summer in IB at a boutique, then moved to private credit — but there was no return offer since the fund’s winding down. I’ve been emailing and recruiting since last summer, and now I’m a month away from graduating.

It’s not a resume issue — I landed interviews at EBs and MMs mostly through cold drops. Went through a few processes, even made it to the final stage in one, but they ended up ghosting me.

I’m still sending networking emails, but barely anyone replies — even alumni. I missed the boat on applying to any of the reputable master’s programs since I don’t have a GMAT. I could probably get into a non-target one, but that’s about it.

At this point, I’m not even gunning for IB anymore. I’m reaching out to Big 4 TS, valuations, even small family offices — basically anything remotely front office. And I keep hearing the same thing: “You have a strong profile, but we’re not hiring right now.” I think the rumours of no hiring is true.

Does anyone have any advice? It's getting tough boys - I tell my parents I'm fine but can't help crying in the bathroom
