Unpaid Investment Banking Internship

Im a high school senior right now, and I want to get an unpaid investment banking internship at a boutique for next summer. I am completely fine if it is unpaid, as I just want the experience and I want to learn as much as I can. How should I go about getting one? Should I try for my town where there aren't too many boutiques (in the midwest, many hours away from chicago) or should I try to go for an NYC/NJ/CT internship? I have family in the northeast in all of the states mentioned, so living expenses won't matter too much.

honestly even if I get the opportunity to do grunt work all summer, id still be more than happy. I just want any experience I can get, as well as something to put on my resume not only for future internships, but for applying to selective finance clubs in college as well.

Anything finance related will be grunt work enough. Still don’t recommend doing an ib boutique but instead a family office or a pwm branch instead. Bank of America did have a very prestigious internship for high school students when I was in school I remember but Even that wasn’t any real work

Expected reward/effort ratio is too low. It’s more important to do the right thing at the right time
