UPenn CAS vs Richard Ivey HBA

So, my friend initially committed to both, but now has been told to choose one (he was allowed to because of some conditional offer of H.S. grades stuff). He's responding tomorrow, and I told him to take Penn. Am I wrong? Just wondering, since I don't want to give bad advice to anyone, especially a friend.

Out of HS? You do understand that Richard Ivey BEGINS in 3rd year, not out of HS right?

And 2nd of all, ya UPenn CAS would be better than Ivey HBA even if this were for 3rd year entry; for 1st year entry against BMOS or any other AEO status program it's such a no brainer it's not even funny.

worry more about networking and building relationships. less about a pissing contest between two schools. :)

I have to return some video tapes.

^ I'm not. I already asked this question since I had the same decision to make, and I already made mine (chose neither).

But he's at an Asian international school where Canadian business schools are considered equal to Ivies. I used to go there. It's weird, but that's how it is there.

seedy underbellylol, he chose Ivey. I guess my opinion isn't worth anything after all. -.-

Good to see that he chose a life of mediocrity. You'll see him in 6 years and ask how his unknown shit degree is serving him.

Well it's his future. In terms of mediocirty.. I think 12% of Ivey students who made SA this summer will disagree with that.

[We are] the best b-school in Canada but UPenn has us hands down. No way as a Canadian I'm gonna be so delusional to deny it haha.

Do GSIP, GS LH fund, and GSCP recruit from UPenn CAS? I dont know. Do they recruit from Ivey? Yes. Have some pride instead of belittling yourself and your great school.

I also doubt CAS places in places like Greenhill, HLHZ, Lazard, BB (calgary, toronto, ny, sf, la, london), Moelis, ONCAP, etc.. Basically at Ivey, even if you dont have personal connections, as long as you do well during recruiting season, you can get the jobs that HYP students wish they got.

For people who come from no finance background with no crazy connections, Ivey is the best school in the world, no contest.

Nigga please. Our school is sick but he's basically comparing BMOS (with AEO) to UPenn CAS. The OP is referring to a first year. Hence, if we can assume an AEO status BMOS student would start (not really an internal transfer but you get the point) @ Ivey in third year, this same student would be wanting to move to Wharton after 1-2 years. Now let's get real here. UPenn CAS blows UWO Social Sciences outta the fuckin water and Wharton is bar none the best undergrad b-school in the world. We have every reason to be proud, but being ignorant is an embarassment.
