US BB IB internship from INSEAD

Hi all. I’m going to INSEAD next year to do my MBA but want to recruit for offices in the US instead of Europe/APAC.

Do most banks require interns to have prior US work authorisation? Are most spots “reserved” for local schools? Basically want to know if this is even feasible or if I’m better off focusing my efforts elsewhere. Cheers.

No clue about US offices but thought I would give my $0.02 about EMEA.

Only 4 banks (MS, CS, Citi, GS) take MBA summer associates so you will need to have luck on your side as well. Post MBA Associate route is not big in the region, unless your prior experience was in IB.

I think you are right, it may be BoA. Maybe MS does not. Either way it is 4-5 places only.

Forget about roles in the US unless you have work authorization. Even at that, it is a crapshoot - OCR is for London, not US + how will you network with US offices while in Fonty.

Best bet is to get into a London BB then try to transfer after a few years. Also, PJT recruits as well but they will take 0-3 people and typically people who already have a strong finance background. Good thing about INSEAD is that barely anyone recruits for IB so success rate is more or less guaranteed as long as you are well prepared for interviews.
