I have a raging nicotine addiction and am good at sneaking in hits. What would happen if I get caught vaping in the office as an intern?

I'd do it in the restroom or try to cut down on how much you need... used to be more common/basically acceptable at work, but people look at vapes like cigs these days, I see very few in the office post-covid. If some senior happens to see and doesn't like you vaping in the office they could easily kill a return offer.
Ngl this is a pretty stupid question, literally just use common sense. Don’t hit it in office, walk outside if you have time and do it there.

Use zyn or on. Less obvious, MDs won't get pissed off at you and it's less bad for you than vaping.
Everyone in my group does it. If it’s before 5-6pm (when senior bankers are still at the office), just go to the bathroom. Nobody will be counting the number of times you pee. If past 5-6 I’d say it playfully to the other junior folks. Most of them won’t care.

There's another VP who vapes all day everyday (did as an associate too). If you were to swipe his screen with your finger, there would be vape residue all over it. Also about 20 empty Juul/vape pods scattered around his desk, its just gross. Nice guy though, just weird.

lmao in the first week of the internship half the interns in my group ran into each other in the bathroom trying to hit their vapes, great bonding experience. Took me back to the bathroom hotboxes during senior year of high school when juul took off.
I think older MDs might not care especially if you’re a grinder. VPs and older associates will care. They’re completely soft. Their generation sucks.
A newly promoted associate I knew would rip all day no cares given.
I got ripped a new one by a young director at an internship once. Almost got fired. 27-45 people are very soft like. They’re the ones who put an end to it I think. They like wearing funky shoes and plaid sport coats as well.

Sneaking hits at the office can be super tempting, but getting caught could definitely land you in hot water, especially as an intern. Employers usually have strict policies about vaping, including electronic cigarettes, so it’s not worth risking your job over it.
