It used to be one of those big-name, but-not-bulge banks. They used to barely creep up in the top 25 or 30 in the league tables. Also since they are headquarted in Charlotte, that gives them ridicule power...

However, they have been consitently in the top 15 for most league tables (M&A, DCM, ECM, Etc), after the merger with Wells Fargo. Still not a top BB bank, but probalby on the rise in my opinion.

nokiaHow hard, compared to the BB, is it to get into the bank's IBD?

I was kinda curious about this as well, if anyone had any idea...

And when does Well's start recruiting for SA's? I haven't seen anything on our career site yet...

I want to bump this. I am from the southeast and enjoy it, so staying in the area wouldn't be a downer for me.

Does anyone personally know about recruiting for them? As of now there is virtually nothing on either websites in terms of IB. Any summer analysts or current employees that have any insight? Thanks.

seems like you like wachovia a lot. if you are undergrad, i believe they will have a new class of analysts for 2010. If you already graduated, tough luck. I was just being told im no longer available for the FA program bc i already graduated and i interned there. =.= but yeah, i think wachovia will definitely be going up on the league tables with wells backing. pm if you have more question on wachovia.

I believe the merger will allow them to be a BB (albeit one of the weakest ones) but still a BB. Changing HQ to nyc is probably required but given their new earnings and potential I think their new IBD focus is helping their rise a lot and correct me if im' wrong but they also acquired a boutique too?
