WallStreetOasis.com in the London Times

Although I don't fully agree with the "doom-and-gloom" picture painted by the author who interviewed me (I think that's the angle he wanted), I thought you guys would at least enjoy the article that just came out in the London Times:

http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/ar…

The quote, "But all this negative attention is unlikely to put off a new generation of would-be bankers" is what I tried emphasized since I see just as many if not more college students going after IBD this year.

...still good to see our community get some press.

I wouldn't say the author painted a "doom-and-gloom" picture. You're probably reading a little too far into it. I think the article is pretty good. You didn't say anything crazy and it get's the website some attention. Overall, I'd say it's a positive outcome. Nice work.

@compbanker - if i were your md, i'd call you up at 4am for that blatant apostrophe you misplaced there... jeezus, patrick, was he that much of a prick (the 4am call)?

Well dagro, considering I work on the buyside now, I'd immediately call up an MD at some investment bank and tell them they need to get an analyst to fix the appostrophe and repost my comment. Then they'd thank me for giving them an opportunity to help my shop out. Haha, just kidding...

to be fair, the 4am call was to turn a book for the client that we had to get to the printers that night/morning (not just for the comma)...it just struck me as ridiculous that we were focused on a comma in the footnotes on a 100+ page presentation at 4am when we were trying to get it done.
