Want to lateral internally to Debt Advisory - Advice?

Hi all - title self explanatory.

London, Boutique/Elite Boutique. Analyst in PCM.

I've ready every possible DCM / Debt post on this website and understood both sides of the story.

Some people think it's unsexy and repetitive or whatever. Some think it's interesting work at times, keeping in mind macro factors, work with sovereigns etc.

Some don't like it because of lower bonuses - although I think the small haircut isn't a problem.

I've weighed the options and *for me* it's worth it.

That being said, I may have an in for an internal switch, but don't know how to approach their relevant seniors and mine. I don't know how to prepare technically or otherwise for potential interviews.

I'm aiming to ride the wave for the next 6 months or so, get bumped up a level and then hope for the switch.

Literally any advice on this would be very appreciated.
