Warburg Pincus Analyst vs Top EB

Hey guys, I'm gonna be at a CVP/EVR/PJT M&A Summer Analyst and was considering recruiting for WP's Analyst program. Was curious about the tradeoffs between the two, especially for someone who wants to do public equities/crossover investing long term and plans on taking the 2 year analyst + 2 year associate + 2 years MBA path to hedge fund. Specifically, curious about:

- How big is WP's analyst class size? Will I miss out on the network/social aspect of a larger banking class?

- How difficult are WP's interviews and will they take too much time to prepare for, especially during my internship (when I want to be locking down the return offer)?

- I heard WP tech analysts don't do as much modeling, much more sourcing and qualitative due diligence/cutting SaaS data rooms. Would it be better to get the banking skillset and then join as associate?

- Do other groups besides tech do extensive modeling as analyst? How does group placement work?

- Since WP does a lot of minority deals, how is the experience different than say an Insight or Silver Lake?

OP if you do end up getting Warburg, STFU and go to warburg. No question, more interesting work, you are less likely to be working with clowns and better culture/hours. Yes finding financing might be a little tougher as the doomsday clock ticks but really u will be better situated with buy side experience to boot. There is really no further thinking required on that front.
