Wealth and Asset Management M&A?

Does anyone know much about wealth management M&A or have any experience in it? I recently came across an M&A analyst role at a boutique focused on wealth and asset management M&A and it caught my interest, but I haven't heard much about it.

Is this an area that would likely pigeonhole someone? I'm assuming the valuation and modeling would be quite different, but would it still be beneficial experience for moving into another industry down the road? If anyone has experience with this it would be great to hear about it.
