I have only one friend who was able to start something successfully. He even admits he was about 6 months from going bankrupt. He also is 28. If he was an A2A in PE or IB he would have about the same amount and not have a risk of going bankrupt.
Everyone wants to create a unicorn start up, but 1/100000 there born a Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos. 99% of us are just normal human being with average IQ and average family background. Plus starting your own company in the first few years will not make any money, if you are in student debt or need to pay back mortgages than good luck. Also it is impossible for a 23 years old to be in a C-suite position for a big corporation, unless your dad is the largest shareholder in board of directors.
