Wealth Management IB Thoughts

Got an offer at a MM bank in a group that specializes in the Asset and Wealth Management industry. They have pretty good deal flow and overall have a pretty good presence in this industry.

Its my understanding that although this is technically a FIG vertical, it is just like another business with similar modeling practices and without the nuances like insurance, depositories, etc.

I do find this industry interesting and I absolutely wouldn't dislike working in it but the idea of being seen as too niche to potential exits is a little daunting, considering im already 26 and making a lateral move, and my window to move around is closing.

Would really appreciate a little insight on if my feelings are valid or if there would be some career flexibility 2-3 years down the line. TIA.

Hey,

sorry for the later follow up on this DM offer but this role is with Raymond James for an experienced analyst role. I’d probably wanna hang out in IB for a while so I’m wondering if I end up not liking this industry, how possible it would be for me to lateral to a different industry down the line?  Appreciate the insight.
