This is why the woke culture is horrible, and you can never win. When I was there few years ago, I was mandated directly by group head to interview 1 diversity candidate for each non diversity candidate we interviewed. As a result, there are candidates extremely under qualified for the job and we still offered to interview them. We were borderline forced to hire from this extremely under qualified pool of candidates and we took a big chance on them. Some worked in retail wealth management previously and went to school at some local community college in Charlotte. For reference my group head was one of those guys that truly supported diversity, I have seen minority employees taking big advantage of this. For example, it took us 3 years to let go of a guy who would fuck up everything by trying to add value. For example, he doesn’t know the difference between total debt and net debt after people explained it to him multiple times. Turn the logo upside down and etc. seniors have low key asked him to move to PE or somewhere else by providing them with good reference. Finally, after 3 years of HR nightmare the team was finally able to let him go after we hired 2 additional minorities.
