Didn't know if he never made a move because he didn't want to wreck both our careers

Yeah no shit. He probably feared being accused of "harassment" and being axed from the team.

I second the above. Wait until he's left and then ask him.

he’s always do a bunch of little things like prolonged eye contact or smiling every time he saw me or let me borrow his jacket but the mixed signals came from whenever he texted me it would be dry asf/leaving me on read (don’t know if bankers just suck at texting Bc they’re busy) or if we were alone he’d get quiet/awkward (but not the cute kind?) or mentioned to me that the girl he was talking to told him she didn’t like him and he was sad about it so like wtf

Hope this doesn't encourage any future analysts to prey on female SAs, even if the women show interest in you. You can never know for sure whether the women are simply being nice or even leading you on to get that return offer/whatever. Trust me, it's not worth it. If you guys go in a personal, secluded setting and afterwards she says something like "John tried to make a move on me!" to HR, you will be fucked beyond redemption. Be nice and keep it pushing.

As long as you have the same employer - forget about him. Hard and fast rule period. One of you are more than likely to exit within the next 2 years so if it’s truly love at first sight it can wait.
