WF vs. SVB
Really divided between these two. SVB is in their new tech group in the NYC office. Wells is a platform offer but with their bad group placements, I'm terrified of going to Charlotte. Does anyone know which would have better exit ops/comp?
SVB. Would rather be on a growing platform with good deal flow in an exciting industry than a bank that only gets invited to deals for its balance sheet (sorry WF folks)
What’s the comp/bonus like at these 2?
I know SVB is at or above street. There is recent bonus data in the company database on here too. I also know seniors have no bonus cap. I have no first hand experience with WF unfortunately.
If you are terrified of Charlotte I would go SVB. Wells places a lot, if not the majority, of interns in Charlotte
I was literally in the exact same situation last year, except I got an offer from SVB Healthcare rather than tech. I felt like a lot of people on this site were pushing SVB, but I ended up choosing WF and feel like I made the best decision for myself.
If you're dead set on tech, then SVB could be a good option. If you want a more optionality, WF might be the way to go. Personally, I chose WF partially because I wasn't set on an industry and partially for better name/exits. I personally didn't find group placement too difficult and I ended up in my top choice group, but there's always a risk that it might not work out. Think about what factors matter most to you and make your decision based off that.
