My bank just told me that they are switching our summer analyst position to a fully virtual format and left things very open-ended with what they are sending us. What have other banks said that they are sending interns for the summer? (laptop, monitors, etc)

Also how do people think it will effect access to CAPIQ and Bloomberg, guessing things will just come preinstalled on our laptps.
Highly doubt they will be providing laptops or monitors. Most likely it will be a VPN and you have to provide your own device unless you have extenuating circumstances such as no device at home. Its possible that they have you buy a laptop and other accessories since you're not going to be paying for housing and other costs that you would if the internship were in person.
I think this is likely, especially if they are still paying out the $2,000 to SAs- more than enough to cover a decent laptop/accessories - plus they will be paying you the same amount and they are aware youre not paying for rent (in most cases)
Seems unlikely that they would want us using our own laptops in my opinion, don't you think? Ive never heard of a company wanting people to use their personal computers for work. Sorta hard to do a bunch of modeling on a Macbook with no mouse or real keyboard
When I was at a BB they didnt give out laptops, when analysts worked from home they had to login through a VPN- so I think its possible
Yeeeeeah I don't know about which companies you've heard about. Many BBs already have had analysts doing work on their own computers pre-COVID 19 crisis.
Ah no, most shops have you use your own. Advisable to use a PC
