What are some future strategy for banks?
Hi all,
The earnings from the major financial institutions have been released. The benchmark source for revenue which is the fixed-income has been down (other than Morgan Stanley), equities (a lot of it are machine-driven), and investment banking business has been as usual. Goldman seems like they are going to reduce much of equities business and JP Morgan made a devastiture of commodities unit. So I wonder what area or product could be the next big revenue generator for big banks especially their investment bank unit? What strategy are the banks pursuing for the next 5 to 10 years? How are they with derivatives business? Could that business be something the next big thing?
