What are some popular restaurants in the IB scene (NYC)
I'm imagining the trendy places like Catch, TAO, Carbone, etc. Any others that are quality?

Those are all super touristy / sceney places, with the exception of Carbone those were hot 4-5 years ago. Catch used to be fun when you're an intern with a summer birthday looking to impress your insta model girls, but I would look at someone sideways if they said they went there last weekend. Carbone is a cool Insta story if you manage to get in, but people from IB are rarely there because of $$ / difficulty / food is just okay.
Think local restaurants with good food that fly below the radar - IB workers are normal people, chances are they're eating in their neighborhood. Michelin 1 stars or bib gourmand are a good start if you're looking for something fancier. Realistically, Seamless is the most likely for people in IB.
Carbone is easy to get if you know how - plus food there is very good. It's also a michelin starred restaurant.
You have to be crafty on Resy, yeah, but most people in IB do not have the time to go crazy at 9am or be the first to click on the Notify more than 1 time in their life
It's an experience but I still think the majority of the people there are touristy or NYers celebrating something - certainly not an old money, IB heavy spot was my point
You’re asking the wrong questions. Learn the seamless joints where you can get double meat for under your per diem.

Most of the best restaurants in the city fly well under the radar (hence I will not be naming them)…
There is a website called Tock, it’s like open table for good restaurants. That’s where me and work friends go when we want to try a new place. Sometimes you will feel like the food isn’t worth the money, but you’ll never feel like the meal sucked.
