What are the top/most prestigious smaller boutiques/kiosks?
What are the top/most prestigious smaller boutiques/kiosks? How are their exits into PE and B-School? How is their comp? Would you consider them over MM, mid tier BBs, or perhaps even some larger/more well known boutiques?
If you're interested in tech IB I would take Qatalyst over anything other than GS TMT
MS Menlo is nice too
True but tech IPOs kinda been L's lately
MS Menlo is more IPO/ECM work whereas GS TMT is more M&A so agree with above sentiment.
Sit down guy if you had an offer from MS Menlo you’d take it so fast
If you want recent proof of how solid Qatalyst is in the TMT space, they got the sell-side advisor role together with GS on the Salesforce-Slack deal. Ignore BoA; they got the buy-side because they helped underwrite the financing.
WSO isn’t letting me post the link, but there was a recent thread on a similar topic. Some of the comments on the thread directly address your questions, so you might find it helpful.
Look up: “Will "Rising EBs" Ever Become EBs? Do They Even Want To Become EBs?”
Currently going through recruiting and at a target where M Klein goes on campus. Would’ve taken them over most mid and lower tier BBs as well as probably all MM.
y
Had a bunch of friends that interviewed w them and after they presented on campus I asked friends in the industry about them (I didn’t land an interview probably bc I have a low gpa). Most people in the industry know who they are and they’re extremely respected bc of the massive deals they’ve been able to land. The analyst experience itself from a learning experience seems incredible bc of their deals and how close you’ll be to some of the top rainmakers. The exits for the few analysts they’ve had have been very good (Ares, Carlyle, etc). For all these reasons I wldve been willing to give up a more well known name/the option to do corporate dev unless that known name really was JP, MS, GS, etc (especially considering how random group placement can be).
Can back those two firms up...in my opinion those are the top 2 kiosks in the US... an analyst from either would certainly be considered at my firm

UMM PE
People have given me Morgan Stanley for this but Fernando Taylor Partners is getting there. Solid platform with a lot of great deals consistently.
What do you guys think? Def not M. Klein but still pretty good.
You’re actually a troll. I’ve seen you force FTP into these discussions on a regular basis. Not sure if they’re sponsoring you to be their social media manager but chill.
Lol their social manager would not say "Def not M. Klein".
I am chilling while writing this. I just want people to know that we are doing well as a firm. Nothing to say anything wrong about it. Let me know if you want to know more. I'd be happy to assist you wiht the proces.
Every time I see your username, I prepare to lose a few brain cells from the ensuing comment
Yo, I am one of the most influential analysts on this forum. There are no other solid analysts that have contributed as much as I have. If you can, name any analysts that have done anything for this community and no, they can't be anon.
No response to me, huh? I try to be unbiased but sometimes I have to mention banks that work best in certain sichies.
UBS is pretty small but underrated
THis is not funny. We are trying to have serious convos here
Just stop worrying about prestige.....that's the real answer here.
A quite legendary boutique in Europe is Robey Warshaw. Check out their website, it is literally just their name, email and phone number. Very small team, with seniors who were running the show for BBs in Europe and decided to start their own practice. They advise on some of the biggest deals.
Allen and co is solid too
LionTree, M. Klein, Robery Warshaw, DBO. Solid exits from all, likely better equipped for buy side interview's as well
