What are you allowed to do with an offer letter?
Salary wise, does anyone know what you are able to do with a signed offer letter? I know that NYC landlords allow you to show your offer letter as proof of income in order to obtain a lease. Additionally, I know some lenders such as Amex will let you use your offer letter to verify income as well- for example trying to get Amex Platinum a few months before you move in/start working so you can buy things and achieve the signup bonus easily. I was wondering what other things you are legally able to do with the offer letter? Please only respond if you 100% know what things you can do with it mainly related to getting access to things that a working professional/adult would need (lease, credit card, etc...) . Looking for serious answers only.
Automaker finance arms (GMAC, Toyota Financial, etc.) will take it in lieu of pay stubs.
Thank you. Probably wont be needing a car anytime soon but that's definitely good to know.
Off topic but why the Amex Platinum over the CSR? CSR has a lower fee and the benefits are arguably more useful for someone in IB.
