What banks have increased pay in London?
In London, I'm aware banks have started to increase Associate 1 base salaries. It would be great if anyone can provide insight into what banks are doing this, so far I have the below data points.
Banks increasing salary:
BAML: Analyst 1 (57.5k), Analyst 2 (£67.5k), Associate 1 (£110k)
Credit Suisse: Associate 1 (£110k)
RBC: Associate 1 (£105k)
Banks not increasing salary:

Bump
So BAML and CS increased from 90k to 105k? Do you have any info about AN base increase in London? Thanks!
For BofA, A1 went from 50k to 57.5k and A2 from 60k to 67.5k
Do these increases apply only to IBD?
re-read the post it's 110k not 105k
any EB salary updates at Analyst level?
Following
Heard Rothschild will increase base as well - can anybody confirm?
JEF shortened the analyst programme to 2 years. Any insights on Associate0/ 1pay?
Sheesh when did BAML increase AN2 to 67.5?
So they used to pay 60k for Ana2 when they moved to a 2yr analyst program (effectively killing the 2nd year analyst role). I did not know the GBP amount but they did raise pay in April (+$10k) to follow other banks improving junior pay etc.
So these increases that happened around April aren't included in the 20/21 Arkesden report? Is their any report about these increases across firms?
are GS increasing base?
Increased everywhere in Europe and crazy bonuses have been distributed
Do banks in london ever still take on ex-big 4 guys? Just curious (sorry for hijacking).
Also have heard through mutuals that AN1 at Evercore make like 90k or smth, not sure how true that is
Banks do occasionally hire ex Accounting and Audit in particular as analyst laterals / sometimes associates. Dartmouth and others advertise these roles when they open
Thanks a lot, I'll check it out.
RBC FIG take PwC audit/deals at an analyst level, Greenhill hire them for associate, UBS have a few big 4 lateral as associates - know of these so far for sure. imagine similarly many other banks do. i think being in FDD makes it much, much easier than from audit.
Very interesting to see, had no idea, thank you!
Met quite a few ex-big 4 people during all of my interviews at EBs last year
Thanks a lot for the insight!
All of the EBs and European banks take people from Big 4, less common with US BBs. Roths and Laz are the biggest hirers here and even have regular on-cycle programmes for recruiting and on-boarding newly qualified ACAs
Thanks a lot this is extremely insightful! When would be the right time to start networking for these roles? A year before my contract is up?
LOL - none of the EBs have had a pay rise. What a joke
They will have to at some point - one of the biggest selling points for candidates who might otherwise go to BBs
They have to now that even RBC is paying higher base than some EBs
...
MoCo AN1 bumped to 65k
Associates in IB get paid less than corporate lawyers??
You sure about that?
base pay is lower than some of the US law firms but all in you should be miles ahead
Any updates on Evercore? They seem to be paying less than quite a few of the other EBs now
Evercore are below the new market they’re paying £95k base for associate 1
Surely they'll have to bump again? Does anyone on the inside know if there's a review going on?
As of now, this is their new final pay and no plans to bump again.
They claim to make up for the lower base with their ‘high’ bonuses but the truth is their bonuses are also slightly below other EBs.
Associate 1s get around 75-100% on £95k vs other EBs who pay 100% bonuses on a £110-125k base.
Hmmm that's quite surprising. Do you work there? Any insight on what Lazard / Centerview are doing in London?
damn, time to go on strike.
Also, £95k is for Associate 0, once you hit Associate 1, you should hit 6 figures.
Which bank is paying £110 - £125 for Associate 1s? (Besides Piper, which needs to build out its teams and Blair)
Nobody mentioned Blair yet? Top of the street pay: https://www.efinancialcareers.co.uk/news/2021/07/new-salaries-investmen…
