What Can be Done with this Background?

Hey, all.

I am a rising senior at an off-target NC school with a major in economics and business minor. My overall GPA at the time is 3.25 though I am hoping to raise it to 3.3-3.4 by the time I graduate. My major GPA is 3.51 currently.

I am in consideration for a fall internship at a boutique investment bank in Charlotte (Second round interviews were on Friday and they seemed to go well). There is another investment bank that has a winter program I will apply for in October. I am also in consideration for a sales rep. internship at Northwestern Mutual (Though I understand IBankers resent these types of work experiences - I'm just trying to have anything finance on my work experience before May).

Let's say I hypothetically got both IB internships - the fall opportunity as well as the winter opportunity.

Since most BB firms hire in October, is it even worth applying to them? Should I just go with MM firms such as WF or BB&T where the hiring process starts later in the year, which would give me time to put both those job opportunities on my resume? If not, I can look into applying for elite boutiques or normal ones, possibly even full time positions through the firms I could be working at.

Furthermore, the first internship I mentioned has a spring opportunity. Should I go for that spring opportunity or try to diversify my work experience and look for something in S&T or PWM for the spring?

Thanks.
