What can I do from home to help my chances for an internship next year?

I am a rising sophomore at a non-target school. I wasn’t able to do an internship this year due to covid, so I have just been working. What can I do at home for the next month that could help my chances next summer? Any certifications or well regarded online programs? Should I study anything or learn any skills?

There are tons of threads on how to break in to IB from a non-target on this site. Read those threads, network with school alumni (I know it might not be much, I am from a non-target), and start becoming well versed in discussing and forming opinions on the market. I would also advise you to find a Junior or Senior that is willing to mentor you through the process, it is long and hard. After two years of calls, prep, & being a hawk on the news I have my super-day on Friday.... You can read all of this advice, but if you really act on it you can get it done. Keep your GPA up too.

I see posts like this all the time. You can work on (“beta test”) exercises I created for an online course in this space. And discuss w/ me after, give feedback, ask Q’s. If you are serious about gaining a skillset, and are willing to put in the work, and keep coming to me for more, it can be as valuable as you desire of it being. For example, once you acquire the knowledge / skillset in an exercise - you can maybe create Example #2 for a different company / transaction, using the existing layout / format.
