I am about to start a virtual SA at a MM (covering tech). Is this an accurate depiction of an investment banker's work day? She basically gets into work at 9 and works until after 8 or 9pm everyday so 11+ hours. I know investment bankers work long hours but I find that nuts. Any who's actually been in IB can tell me if this is similar to their own work schedules? Is there downtime during the day?
Do you think that 11h is too much?
I've always been intense about going into banking but haven't thought about the toll it would have on my mental and physical health until now. And from her video it sounds like she's working an average of 80 hours/week if you include weekends so just wondering if that's the norm or only at more "sweatshops"
Sweatshop is more like 100 hours/week. How did you get an internship at a MM if you don't even have basic knowledge about the IB industry?
